DUM ALOO RECIPE

     Today we are going to prepare easy, delicious, creamy & flavorful Dum Aloo.

    Dum aloo is one of the classic Indian dishes served in a special meals like weddings, celebrations or festivals. Dum translates to steam cooked & aloo to potatoes. So Dum Aloo translates to potatoes that are steam cooked. It goes well with chapatis, roti or even with rice.

Ingredient's

  • Baby potatoes
  • Onions 2 medium sized
  • Tomatoes 2 medium sized
  • Oil 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Cloves 2
  • Green chilies 2 
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Water 3.5 cups for boiling
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • 1 cup thick plain yogurt(curd)
  • Coriander leaves (optional)
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Garam masala 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Green cardamom 2
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
Preparation for Dum Aloo

  • Wash and peel baby potatoes.

  • Take 3.5 cups water add 1 tbsp salt, steam the potatoes untill they are 70% cooked.

  • Heat 3 tbsp of oil in a non-stick pan. Add the potatoes and shallow fry them on a medium high flame until golden.

  • Remove them to a plate.

  • Cut the potatoes to equal sized or prick each aloo with a fork 3 times so that it absorbs flavor's of the gravy.
  • Blend the onions and green chilies, make paste, keep aside.

  • Blend the tomatoes and cashew nuts (optional), keep aside.

  • Heat oil in pan add 1 bay leaf, cloves, ginger garlic paste &fry until the raw smell goes away.

  • Add the onion paste and sauté until the raw smell goes away

  • Add tomato paste and sauté also add chili powder, salt, coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder.

  • Saute until the masala becomes thick, smells good and aromatic.

  • Meanwhile whisk yogurt and keep aside.

  • Add potatoes to the masala and mix well.

  • Now add whisked yogurt mix it well and add water a little.

  • Cover with a tight lid. Dum cook on a low heat for 5 to 7 mins.

  • Add salt if needed and sprinkle coriander leaves (optional) add curd a little.
  • Transfer Dum Aloo to serving bowl.

  • Serve it hot with Roti, Chapathi, Butter naan or even with plain rice.

  • Acrylic paints
  • Stone
  • Painting brushes
  • Jar of water
  • Tissue paper
Steps to paint

  • Cleanly wash and dry the stone you want to paint.

  • Paint the background with the colors of your choice Ex: yellow, red, orange, blue, pink, green.

  • Let the background dry completely. Paint the front part with black color as shown.

  • Draw the straight line in the middle with black color.

  • Now paint the black dots as shown.


  • Paint the eyes of the bug's with white and black color.

  • Paint the mouth of the bugs with white color.let the colors dry completely.

  • Our beautiful lady bug's are ready.

EASY PRAWNS BIRYANI IN PRESSURE COOKER RECIPE

     Today we are going to prepare easy and tasty prawns biryani in pressure cooker.

    Biryani is a delicious dish made by cooking fragrant basmati rice with spices and herbs. This prawns biryani recipe is the way I make foodies at home. It is much simpler to make than any other biryani varieties. We can easily make this for lunch boxes.


    A raita or a bowl of fresh veggie salad goes well with this biryani. It will be much easier if you keep  your prawns fried at night so that you can cook the biryani quickly.

Ingredients

  • Prawns medium sized 200gms (washed and cleaned with salt and turmeric)
  • Onion 1 large (chopped)
  • Tomato 1 (chopped)
  • Garam masala or biryani masala 1tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Mint leaves
  • Curry leaves
  • Coriander leaves
  • Oil 4 tbsp 
  • Basmati rice washed and soaked 1 cup
  • Shahi jeera 1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Water for boiling basmati rice 1/2 cup
Note: For any type of prawn recipes we should clean them properly by removing the black hair like thing on prawns, its poisonous.
Preparation

  • Carefully clean and wash the prawns with rock salt and turmeric powder, drain the water completely.
  • Add ginger garlic paste, salt, red chili powder, garam masala powder and mix them.

  • Heat oil in a pan, Add mint leaves also add prawns.

  • Stir fry them in medium flame, keep tossing them until they are completely fried. keep them aside.

  • Now heat oil in a pressure cooker.

  • Add shahi jeera in the oil.

  • Add onions, tomato , mint, coriander and curry leaves, let them cook for 2 mins.

  • Add the fried prawns to it and stir them, also add garam masala powder.

  • When oil gets separated add basmati rice and mix well.

  • Now add 1 cup of water to it, also add salt and close the lid. 

  • Wait  for 2 whistles in a medium flame. Switch off the stove.

  • Our hot prawns biryani in pressure cooker is ready to be served.
